Florida Metropolitan University began its venture into online learning in the winter quarter of 1999 by offering five courses on two campuses. After our initial pilot phase, FMU expanded its online course offerings to include all nine FMU campuses for the winter quarter of 2000. At the same time we received approval to develop for online enrollment any of the courses within the standardized Business Administration program. In the Fall of 2001, additional approval was granted to offer the Accounting and Criminal Justice programs.

Since winter term 2000, FMU has consistently added courses within these Associate and Bachelor's degrees and today all of the courses necessary to complete the degrees are available online which now includes Master's programs.

A new branch of our school was established in Vancouver, Washington in 1979. Our goal was to meet the growing employment needs of Southwest Washington. The campus moved to its current location in 1998. Due to rapid growth and increasing educational demands, the school was expanded in 2001. Our current facility boasts 16,000 square feet of space.
